Conditions Treated

Type 1 Diabetes
A chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and was called juvenile diabetes in the past. However, type 1 diabetes can occur in children and adults at any age, and causes the need for insulin injections for the rest of the patient’s life.

Type 2 Diabetes
A chronic disease that affects the way the body processes glucose in the blood. In patients with type 2 diabetes, the pancreas makes insulin, but the body doesn’t use the insulin as it should.
Gestational Diabetes
This is a type of diabetes that occurs only during pregnancy.

Pre-diabetes is a condition in which the level of glucose (sugar) in the blood is higher than normal but not high enough to be considered diabetes. Individuals with pre-diabetes have a greater likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes.
