A message from our CNO - Jessica Carter

    Welcome to Ferrell Hospital,

At our core, nursing is about people — caring for them, advocating for them, and being there when they need us most while keeping their care close to home. As the Chief Nursing Officer of Ferrell Hospital, I am honored to lead a team of compassionate, skilled professionals who live out that mission every day since our founders in 1925.

As a rural Critical Access Hospital, we have a unique role in the healthcare landscape. We don’t just serve patients — we serve our neighbors, our friends, and our families. That personal connection drives everything we do, and it’s what makes nursing here so special.

Driven by the passion and dedication of our nursing leadership team, in 2022, Ferrell Hospital celebrated a significant milestone in our journey to excellence and achieved our Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC) hospital accreditation and maintains accreditation from The Compliance Team (TCT) for most of our rural health clinics. This is more than a benchmark — it’s our promise to consistently deliver safe, high-quality care to our community.

Our nurses are the heart of patient care. Whether at the bedside, in one of our rural health clinics, or as part of a specialty care team, they bring dedication, empathy, and clinical excellence to every shift. We support our nurses with continuing education, clinical training such as in-house BLS, ACLS, PALS, and a culture that values teamwork, communication, and professional growth. From new graduates to experienced nurses, we strive to create an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute meaningfully.

    We are proud to offer:
    • A close-knit, supportive work environment
    • Opportunities to work across a variety of settings and specialties
    • Access to ongoing training, certification programs, and tuition reimbursement
    • Schedules that support work-life balance and personal well-being
    • A commitment to safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
At Ferrell Hospital, our nurses are more than employees — they are leaders, educators, friends and trusted caregivers. We are continually investing in our nursing team because we believe that when nurses are supported, empowered, and inspired, patient care reaches its highest potential.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our hospital and our team. If you’re a nurse looking for a meaningful career in a community where your work truly makes a difference, I encourage you to explore the opportunities here. Rural healthcare is challenging, rewarding, and deeply impactful — and there’s never been a better time to be a part of it.
