    What's New?

    • The majority of text messages you receive from Ferrell Hospital will now come from our new text messaging short code: 817647.
    • The majority of automated phone calls you receive from Ferrell Hospital will now come from our new automated reminder phone number: 618-266-2539.

    What's Changing?

    • The new system will no longer send text messages or automated phone calls from the phone number your provider's office uses.
    • We will no longer be monitoring any text messages you send to your provider's office phone number.
    • Your provider's office phone number is not changing, you can still contact your provider's office using the same number you've always used to reach them, and you will still receive phone calls directly from the staff at your provider's office from the same number.
    • There are a few other kinds of calls and text messages that you will still receive from other phone numbers that are managed by healthcare organizations who partner with Ferrell Hospital. Some examples of these include:
      • our independent patient satisfaction survey provider

    How to Get Started

Manage your text messaging Opt In/Opt Out status at any time:

    • Make sure your text-capable phone number is listed in the mobile phone number field in our system.
      • You can update this in MyChart under Personal Information.
      • We can update this for you, just ask our office staff at your next appointment.
    • To Opt In to receiving text messages from our new system, simply text the word START to our new short code: 817647. Message and data rates may apply.
    • To Opt Out of receiving ALL text messages from our new system, simply text the word STOP to our new short code: 817647
    • Text the word HELP to 817647 for assistance with our text messaging system, and we will send you instructions or a phone number to call.
    • NOTE: Do not text the word HELP for medical assistance. If you need medical assistance, please call 911.

    You're in Control

You can decide which communication methods (text message, phone call, email, or MyChart message) you would like us to use when we send you different types of reminders or notifications. For example, you may want to receive appointment reminders by text message only, billing notifications by text message and email, and appointment change notifications by MyChart message.

Your communication preferences can be updated at any time:

    • You can update your communication preferences anytime in MyChart by opening the main navigation menu and clicking “Communication Preferences” under Settings
    • We can update this for you, just ask our office staff at your next appointment
